Apothecary comes from the Greek word meaning "to prepare remedies." It's basically an old word for pharmacy, it can be a place or a person. The profession of the apothecary goes as far back as ancient Babylon in 2600 B.C.
Often, many years ago an apothecary was a healer with wisdom about plants, foraging, and food as medicine for various ailments. They would supply herbs, spices, tinctures, compounds, teas, and other natural holistic ingredients to cure ailments.
I love the healing powers of nature, and I wanted to bring that out by sharing these medicinal herbs with others through fun products that smell good, feel good, and contribute to your health in some way. My restorative remedies are all handcrafted with all natural ingredients to ensure that you are taking care of your mind and body naturally!

Hi! My name is Madeline, I live in Ohio and I started Rose and Thistle Apothecary because I believe in the healing power of natural products, and wanted to share these products that are handcrafted with all natural ingredients and locally homegrown herbs. I grew up learning about homesteading and the magic that comes from natural remedies, and I later developed allergies to artificial ingredients. This led me to learn more about the power of Mother Nature and the way you can heal with herbs.
